For the third time, bauverein AG surveyed its most important stakeholders in order to harmonise their requirements and needs with the corporate strategy. The survey of the most important stakeholder groups will be analysed at the beginning of 2017. Once again, the results show that, regardless of the stakeholder group, the provision of affordable housing is one of bauverein AG's most important tasks for most respondents. However, there is also a need to create new living space in southern Hesse and to reduce ancillary costs.
In March, further elements of the mobility concept will be presented in the Lincoln estate, which is intended to make it easier for residents of the new neighbourhood to make greater use of sustainable mobility in future. New features include a second call-a-bike station, a pool from the car-sharing provider book-n-drive and the opening of the new mobility centre in the former petrol station. The completed road section up to the roundabout will also be officially handed over to the city.
Implementation of the reorganisation in day-to-day business begins on 3 April. The three reorganised teams - responsible for customers in Darmstadt, southern Hesse and new customers - start work. The Service Centre, which has been expanded into First Level Support at the same time, will also take on new, additional tasks from now on. The aim is to further improve customer service and shorten the processing times for customer enquiries.
In April, bauverein AG and Vivarium present a new attraction financed by bauverein AG: the bird size wall. The wall uses life-size templates to show the diversity of birds and provides information on the individual species - from the tiny bee elf to the stately nandu. The 10,000 euro donation from bauverein AG was also used to purchase wooden benches and tables that invite visitors to rest and picnic.
For the third time, bauverein AG is organising a tenants' football tournament in June. In bright sunshine, teams of tenants, Bauverein employees and Darmstadt organisations such as the EAD compete for victory in short matches. In the end, a team of tenants takes first place: The team celebrates afterwards.
At the end of June, construction work begins on a site in Rodgaustraße for a construction project comprising 32 subsidised flats. Two buildings will be erected here in just five months - that's a record! This is made possible by the use of prefabricated building elements and bathroom modules, among other things. As in Blütenallee, bauverein AG is also offering its tenants low-cost "tenant electricity" here.
Even before Darmstadt's Patrick Lang wins the Ironman in Hawaii and the triathlon scene looks to Darmstadt, bauverein AG is supporting the purchase of a team bus for the young triathletes of DSW Darmstadt.
In September, bauverein AG invites tenants of the residential complex in Blütenallee to a summer party followed by an art project. The aim is to promote neighbourliness in the residential complex, where families from different cultures and nations live, and to create an art object for Blütenallee as part of a workshop together with a Darmstadt artist.
At Schwarzen Weg 18 to 20a, bauverein AG is having the outdoor facilities and entrance area redesigned from the beginning of September. Among other things, a green island will be created in front of the main entrance in order to improve the quality of stay. The park-like area at the rear of the residential complex will also be redesigned and made barrier-free. At the same time, former commercial space at Schwarzen Weg 18c will be converted into four flats.
Three construction starts will take place on the Lincoln estate in the last quarter of 2017. Work will begin here on a construction project comprising 143 flats (subsidised and privately financed), 96 flats (subsidised and privately financed) and 77 flats (privately financed). Underground car parks with almost 500 parking spaces for residents of the neighbourhood are also being built on two construction sites.
In Eberstadt-Süd, the construction site for the Stresemannstraße multi-storey car park is set up at the end of October. The garage with 360 parking spaces will be built on the site of the old multi-storey car park that was previously demolished.
Further buildings in Rhön- and Spessartring will be completed in December. In order to further improve communication with the residents, bauverein AG invites the tenants of the listed complex to an exchange - the start of a dialogue that will take place regularly thereafter.
In 2017, the employees and management of bauverein AG are once again donating to a good cause. The employees will forego their gifts and donate 1,000 euros each to the "Verein für krebskranke und chronisch kranke Kinder Darmstadt / Rhein-Main-Neckar e.V." and "Bärenstark Kinderintensivpflege e.V.". The Executive Board is also once again foregoing gifts for business partners. This means that 1,800 euros each will go to the "Rotzfrechen Spielmobil" and the "Urban Garden Darmstadt" initiative.
