Completed at the end of 2015, the residential complex in Arheilger Blütenallee comprises 88 flats and a daycare centre. The O-shaped building complex is grouped around an inner courtyard, which was deliberately designed as a meeting place for the residents and also includes a playground and the outdoor area of the childcare centre. The entire complex is supplied with heat and electricity by a highly efficient combined heat and power plant. In this way, 90% of the fuel can be converted into usable energy and 20 tonnes of CO2 can be saved each year. This benefits the tenants, who receive electricity and heat directly from the supplier (so-called "tenant electricity model").
The facility in Blütenallee also includes a crèche. A total of 33 children under the age of three have been cared for here since autumn 2016. With the construction of the "Blütenallee" daycare centre, bauverein AG has made a contribution to improving local childcare for young children in the Arheilgen district. The Blütenallee daycare centre The state of Hesse provided 8.9 million euros in funding for the construction of the residential complex and daycare centre; the city of Darmstadt contributed a further 3.5 million euros to the construction.
