Ettesterstraße 39-43 / Beyerweg 1-5

The idea is as exciting as it is challenging: Can the design for a passive house be replicated in Sweden as well as in the south of Italy? What influence do climatic conditions have on the construction method or even the costs? A project initiated in 2008 by the European housing industry network EURHONET with the working title "BuildTog" ("building together") is investigating these questions. Among the seven participants, all of whom are further developing a passive house designed by the French architect Nicolas Michelin, is bauverein AG - the only German housing company to date. The project participants hope that "BuildTog" will provide them with more knowledge about which climate-related adjustments are necessary to achieve the passive house standard. The aim is to utilise the knowledge gained from the international exchange for new ideas and a wider dissemination of passive houses.

The bauverein version of the European passive house is marketed under the title greenageone. In contrast to WohnArt3, greenageone represents a new generation of passive houses. It combines attractive architecture, which is not necessarily typical of a passive house, with the advantages of a passive house. greenageone also features sophisticated "smart" building technology. Despite dispensing with classic passive house elements - pergolas have been replaced by a staircase integrated into the house, front balconies by self-supporting balconies; the shutters are integrated into the façade - greenageone achieves an excellent energy balance. The heating requirement will be 15 kWh/m²/year. And this is despite the fact that the passive house with a living area of 3,568 m2 manages with "only" 26 centimetres of insulation. The CO2 emissions of the 37 condominiums are also low, at 10.44 kg/m²/year.
