Kranichsteiner Street 33 - 37

The existing building from the 1950s comprises 20 residential units and will be extended by 5 additional residential units through the loft conversion. The planned new building will close the existing gap, complete the streetscape and create 13 new residential units.

As part of the construction work, a new central heating supply will be installed with the aim of providing an efficient heat supply and achieving CO2 savings of 90% for the residential complex. The new building and the extensions will exceed the current requirements of the German Building Energy Act; the energy standard for the new building is set at Efficiency House 40 and for the refurbishments at Efficiency House 55. The roof areas will be fitted with a PV system to generate renewable electricity and the yields will be made available to the residents as part of a tenant electricity model.

After completion of the residential buildings, the inner courtyard including car parks, bicycle parking spaces and the entire outdoor area with green spaces will be redesigned.
